CROATIAN CREATION is a multiple multidisciplinary project with MONTAЖ$TROJ legitimizes its own activity, considering the status and longevity in the context of Croatian art, as an original "Croatian Creation".
The framework of the project CROATIAN CREATION is the official application of the MONTAЖ$TROJ group submitted to the Croatian Chamber of Commerce (HGK), which awards the mentioned mark to "original Croatian products and services of above-average quality". It is also the starting point for discussing the link between the general context of a market-driven logic, the local political-economic situation and the production of cultural meanings and aesthetic values.
The project was envisaged in several phases, the starting phase being the construction of a webpage and an interactive exhibition MONTAЖ$TROJ CALLS FOR WITNESSES. Along with the official process within which HGK sets up a commission in order to conduct an exhaustive evaluation of whether MONTAЖ$TROJ satisfies the given criteria, MONTAЖ$TROJ established its own commission in the exhibition space of Galerija Nova in Zagreb, calling upon everyone interested to bear witness and offer arguments on its behalf. All visitors-witnesses were presented with the materials prepared for HGK in the exhibition area: the filled-out admission form, and the comprehensive presentation of projects that were realized in over 20 years of activity. Three moderators directed discussions with 43 witnesses in ten days and recorded their memories with a video camera. The gathered textual and video material will serve as a blueprint for an unconventional monograph, followed by a public performance.
