HOP & RAS DVA was an art installation/performance in which MONTAЖ$TROJ exhibited "itself" devoted to the defenders of the Croatian homeland. The manifest exhibition HOP & RAS DVA, juxtaposed artistic activity and war trauma in a unique manner, by exhibiting theater objects and the performers’ bodies in the Forum gallery. The performers of MONTAЖ$TROJ, exposed as four kinetic sculptures, performed a 12-minute etude inspired by Meyerhold’s biomechanics. The displayed objects were the prototype of the Kalashnikov machine-gun, a megaphone, a golden wheel chair from the RAP OPERA 101 play, a pair of burned shoes from the music video CROATIA IN FLAME, a football, an air-raid hand siren from the play VATROTEHNA, and costumes from previous plays. Part of the exhibition was dedicated to texts on the occupied Croatian towns, described through the prism of Artaud’s records in whish cities are "the stage upon which bodies are bared in blood". This exhibition, aside from its dedication to the defenders, noted the influence of everyday wartime on MONTAЖ$TROJ’s work, and its clear relationship with reality.
HOP & RAS DVA
The athlete of the heart is breath, cry, movement and run – a performer who realizes the reality of cruelty, who feels his own participation in the hero’s battle.
