Dear citizens of Zagreb,
The artist collective MONTAЖ$TROJ is approaching the end of the 25th anniversary of its activity. This year saw us thrill audiences in Zagreb, Rijeka, Ljubljana, Split, Zadar, Leipzig, Dresden and Skopje. Our film debut screened in Croatia, Serbia, the US, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovakia, Romania, Hungary and Czechia. We won awards, organized panel discussions and educational workshops, as well as actively ventured into creating new socially engaged artistic work for our audience that has been growing year in, year out.
Despite all this, even after a quarter of a century of persistent activity, our collective lacks basic spatial working conditions. We have temporarily resolved our cultural homelessness status at the Zagreb Center for Independent Culture and Youth – Pogon where we are preparing a unique artistic action.
In order to warn about our inability to continue working without a permanent solution to our problem of space, we are temporarily suspending all works on creating new socially engaged art meant for the citizens of Zagreb. This performance points to the importance of transparent and collective management of common spatial resources and our city’s commons. We invite you to support us in the SUSPENSION OF WORKS set to be held on October 5, 6 and 7, 2015 at Pogon Jedinstvo. The performance SUSPENSION OF WORKS will run from 7 to 11 pm. Everyone who wants to support us can enter and exit the performance space whenever they want.
