The artist collective MONTAЖ$TROJ presents the premiere of KRLEŽA, OR WHAT ARE FLAGS TO US AND WHAT ARE WE TO FLAGS THAT WE CRY FOR THEM SO, authored and directed by Zlatko Paković.
The premiere will take place on July 6, and the following performance on July 7, 2018 at 9 pm at the Miroslav Krleža Institute of Lexicography. The performance was created and will be performed as part of the Miroslav Krleža Festival in co-production with the artistic organization Teatar poezije.
KRLEŽA, OR WHAT ARE FLAGS TO US AND WHAT ARE WE TO FLAGS THAT WE CRY FOR THEM SO is a performance inspired by the radically critical spirit of Miroslav Krleža. The performance talks of flags as such – devoid of metaphor. It poses the question – What are we regardless of flags, what are we when we try to live in the spirit of globality and openness, a spirit that certainly connects us to other people more than any flag or anthem?
The performers are Vilim Matula as Miroslav Krleža, soprano Ana Jembrek as Bela Krleža, dramaturge on stage Zlatko Paković and lighting artist Konrad Mulvaj.
