“YOUTH WITHOUT GOD” was performed at the prestigious TESZT – Euroregional Theatre Festival Timișoara on May 22, 2024.

During its international visit in Timisoara, Romania, the play “YOUTH WITHOUT GOD” directed by Borut Šeparović was met with an exceptionally positive reception. The play, co-produced by Montažstroj and the Zagreb Youth Theatre, was performed on May 22, 2024 at the prestigious TESZT – Euroregional Theatre Festival Timișoara.

The play was rated one of the best works of youth theater in the last decade, according to a review by Jeremy Malies, in which he particularly praised the innovative use of technology and engagement with the themes of extreme nationalism and the influence of media on young people.

Critics point to the fact that it effectively balances humorous, familiar, and frightening elements, gradually introducing the audience to the gravity of the subject. Technology, violence, National Socialism, and false role models are skillfully intertwined on stage, making the play both artistically striking and socially significant. With its strong narrative and its realistic portrayal of young characters, “Youth Without God” encourages reflection on social challenges and the need for critical reflection on the role of authority and the media in shaping young minds.

The play also provoked reflections on society’s responsibility towards young people and the potential dangers that arise from neglecting these responsibilities. It also emphasizes the importance of art as a medium for opening up a dialogue on difficult but necessary topics. Critical reviews confirm that “YOUTH WITHOUT GOD” is not only a theatrical triumph but also a powerful commentary on current social trends and their impact on young generations. The play leaves a lasting impression and invites continued discussion, which makes it extremely relevant on the international scene.
